Long before it bore the Tyack name, our doors opened in 1780 as The King’s Head. As the town's premier coaching inn, we were the first port of call for travelers. We even stood witness to the birth of the steam age; in 1801, legend says Richard Trevithick’s team celebrated their first successful steam journey right here in our bar.

As Camborne grew into a global center for tin and copper, Tyacks became the 'home' for the industry’s key players. Our rooms hosted the 'Account Dinners' for mine owners making the hotel the unofficial headquarters for the business deals that shaped Cornwall’s heritage.

In 1900, William Tyack purchased the inn, beginning a century-long family legacy that cemented our place in the community. Today, as a Grade II listed building, Tyacks remains a family-run cornerstone of the town—blending 18th-century charm with our reputation as Camborne’s home for live music and local life.
